Carbon Planet is interested in diversifying our carbon credit stocks with credits created within Australia and internationally. If you have an existing project and are selling certified and/or fully audited carbon credits or carbon deeds, please do send an email to origination(at)carbonplanet.com with details of the carbon credits you are offering.
Carbon credits can be created from projects that either sequester carbon dioxide or other greenhouse gases or save greenhouse gases from being emitted using new technologies.
The best place to start your research for new projects is by contacting the body within your country that certifies carbon credits. They will be able to tell you what processes you need to undertake to create carbon credits from your project.
Your Government's Environmental Department may be able to tell you who this is, alternatively use your internet search engine and search under your country name and 'carbon credits' eg. If your project is in India search under 'carbon credits India'.
Other resources for your research may be available on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. See especially 'The Kyoto Protocol' and 'The Marrakesh Accords'
Carbon Planet only purchases carbon credits from specific projects that truly reduce emissions.
Carbon Planet only retails carbon credits that have been certified by a credible third party, against an objective standard (with certification that involves monitoring and verification over time.)
Carbon Planet will always transfer legal ownership of the carbon credits to the purchaser ensuring that carbon credits are not sold again to multiple buyers.
Carbon Planet prefers carbon credits which are additional, that is carbon credits from projects which could not have happened without customers' purchase of carbon those credits.
The certification must provide legal guarantees that the sequestration or carbon saving cannot not be reversed in the future.
The carbon accounting associated with the carbon credits must take into account potential uncertainties (benefit quantification) and ensure that the amount of carbon saved/sequestered is at least equal to the amount of carbon credits sold.
Carbon Planet prefers to purchase carbon credits that offer ancillary environmental benefits.
