It is our firm belief that the way to promote offsetting to the wider community and claims of neutrality should be made using sound information associated with projects that are truly additional, both environmentally and financially. Meaning that these benefits would not have occurred in the absence of the projects we recommend.

Registration & Transfer of Ownership

For many people the 'carbon economy' is still an area either difficult to understand or perhaps misunderstood. For the purpose of issuing, tracking and delivering carbon credits and until a better understanding is more common amongst the communities that are starting to participate, there is a need to offer additional assurances in order to stimulate offsetting confidence. This can be assisted by the services of environmental registries. They offer transparency and act in a similar way to financial institutions but instead deal in environmental currencies like carbon credits and RECs.

Carbon Planet was the first carbon management company in the world to actually transfer each carbon credit's legal title to a unique account setup on our customers behalf. Despite additional labour and expense, we felt it was necessary to reinforce our customers choice to voluntarily offset their emissions. We have maintained this role and will continue to do so in future.

All of the carbon credits we offer will be transferred into the relevant registry where we can set up an account in the name of an individual or business, at no additional cost. Safe, accountable and secure, just like a bank account.
