Note: There is no need for you to create an account on the registry now. We'll do that for you if you purchase carbon credits from us. It's part of our service to attend to these administrative matters for you.
When you purchase NGAC carbon credits from Carbon Planet for the first time, we create an account for you on the registry and send you your login information. Each time you purchase NGAC carbon credits, the credits will be transferred from Carbon Planet's account on the registry to your account on the registry.
You can login to your registry account at any time and check your carbon credit balance to verify that the carbon credits you have purchased from us have arrived. The ability to verify the transfer of credits to you is one of the significant benefits of purchasing carbon credits from Carbon Planet.
You can verify that this is a New South Wales Government website because its domain ends with ".nsw.gov.au". ".au" is Australia's top-level domain. The New South Wales Government's main website is at http://www.nsw.gov.au/.
The NGAC carbon credits in your account on the registry are your legal property and you can do with them what you wish. Most of our customers simply choose to leave them there to offset their emissions. However, your NGAC carbon credits are a tradeable commodity, and you are free to sell some or all of them at any time. If you wish to sell your NGAC carbon credits, please contact us, as we may wish to make you an offer.
While the registry provides clarity of legal ownership and the ability for you to verify, manage, and sell your NGAC carbon credits, there is no requirement for you to login to the registry if you do not wish to. Part of the service we provide is to manage registry transactions for you, so, if you wish, you can purchase carbon credits without ever leaving the Carbon Planet website.
In order to manage your registry account for you and transfer NGAC carbon credits to you, Carbon Planet retains the login information of the registry account it creates for you and uses the login information to login and manage your account in accordance with your instructions. If you are uncomfortable with this, and do not wish Carbon Planet to manage your account for you, you can change your registry password so that only you have access to your registry account (please let us know if you do this). However, if you do this, you will then have to login to your account and explicitly accept the transfer of NGAC carbon credits whenever you purchase NGAC carbon credits from us, as the registry requires that the buyer, as well as the seller, confirm each transaction.
