Incedimazing contributor pdanforth created this image by mixing data from NASA’s Visible Earth project and data from the Defense Meteorological Satellite Programme, the image above shows the lights at night of cities (white), natural gas flares (green), wild fires (red) and fishing fleets (blue). It’s an astounding view of our world and puts into perspective the true scope of human interaction with the planet as a whole. — DS
