Can you change the world in 5 minutes?
Australian broadcaster SBS Television has launched their Change The World in 5 Minutes short film and photo programme.
Changing the world isn’t just about governments and corporations (though they have their own role to play). It’s about the small things you can do at home, and the changes you can make to your lifestyle. Like replacing your light bulbs with energy efficient globes. Or taking the bus to work or school. Or listening to what elderly people in your community have to say.
There’s a whole host of ways you can get involved. And here’s the best bit – you can win great prizes by playing the youCan2 game. Just answer some questions about social and environmental issues, and you could be in the running to win a $3,000 investment portfolio thanks to Australian Ethical Investment & Superannuation.
For more chances to win, simply upload a photo or video of how you’re changing the world. The more votes you get from the community, the more chances you’ll have! Playing the game is a lot like changing the world. It’s simple, and everyone can do it.
You can upload photos, video and news tips and help grow a community of concerned people. Like we say at Carbon Planet, “You can be the change®”. Now if only SBS themselves would show some genuine leadership and address their own carbon emissions. True change comes from leadership. — DS
