Costello calls for carbon trading talks
In Australia the Melbourne Age is saying Costello calls for carbon trading talks.
AUSTRALIA should be part of a global carbon trading system to tackle climate change, Treasurer Peter Costello said yesterday.
“We ought to be in there negotiating what this system would look like so that we protect our own interests obviously but also, we ensure that it’s broad ranging, wide-encompassing and effective,” Mr Costello told the ABC’s Insiders program.
I couldn’t agree more. Costello wants to go slowly however, and the experts all agree the world simply can’t wait for political dithering. You can of course buy carbon credits right now, with no need to wait for the government to stick their fingers in. — DS
