Over at HybridCar.com they have announced Ford Delivers Mariner Hybrid Presidential Edition to President Clinton
Bill Clinton is promoting the greener mile in the latest of a string of environmental initiative being undertaken by the Former President. Gone is the secret service-issued SUV, to be replaced by the more fuel efficient Ford Mercury Mariner Hybrid SUV. President Clinton can expect to get 32 miles to the gallon in the city and 29 mpg on the highway from his new Mariner Hybrid.
You can go to the US Government’s fuel-economy website and compare it with other cars. And its certainly much better milage than a non hybrid SUV.

It’s pretty clear from these charts that Ford have taken the lead in fuel efficiency for now. And tis also clear that the car companies are much more serious about hybrid cars than they ever were about electric cars. — DS
