Blackouts as US temperatures soar
It’s not just Europe feeling the heat, The BBC is reporting Blackouts as US temperatures soar
Hundreds of thousands of people in different parts of the US continue to be affected by power outages as temperatures soar to record highs.
In California, where temperatures reached 50C (122F), the heat may have killed up to eight people.
Even the internet went down for a bit. The BBC is also reporting that MySpace, the personal portal popular with teens, was forced to shut down for a while.
MySpace, the world’s most popular networking website, has restarted after being shut down for more than half a day following a power cut. The company blamed the closure on record-breaking heat in Los Angeles where its data servers are held.
