Prince Charles calls to minimize climate change
In today’s Monsters and Critics, Prince Charles calls to minimize climate change.
Britain’s Prince Charles has called for more action from UK businesses in minimizing climate change.
In his address to 1500 guests, Charles referred to the climate problem as ‘the biggest challenge facing us all’.
The royal also urged his audience to spare no effort in ‘minimizing’ climate change, not ‘adapting’ to it.
He said: ‘I don’t know about you, but I find it mystifying, to say the least, that on all sides we hear of the need to adapt to climate change, as if business can be carried on as usual.
‘But the priority must surely be how we minimise the changes to our climate. We should be very wary indeed of those who use discussion about adaptation to defer ever having to do anything about the cause of the problem.’
Prince Charles has been voicing his concern about climate change for a while. But he should walk the walk as well as talk the talk. In a Blog entry in April I pointed out that Prince Charles has been flying around and not offsetting his emissions. He even claimed not to know what carbon offsets are. — DS
