Czech Republic starts trading in carbon credits - Prague Daily Monitor

Just a quick one from the Prague Monitor:
Czech Republic starts trading in carbon credits

The Czech Republic yesterday started trading in carbon credits and companies that pollute air with sulphur dioxide may therefore apply for the credits through the internet, Environment Ministry spokesman Karolina Sulova said.

Only companies that have a valid permission for greenhouse gases can apply for carbon credits. The number of credits given for free is based on a plan approved by the European Commission. Most Czech companies have welcomed the plan.
