About the certifications
RECs
REC stands for 'Renewable Energy Credit'. RECs are certified by the Australian Government's Department of Climate Change under the Mandatory Renewable Energy Target (MRET) scheme.
The certification means that each REC certifies 1MWh of electricity is produced from renewable resources, by projects within Australia.
VERs
VER stands for 'Verified Emission Reduction'. Carbon Planet's VERs are certified under the Gold Standard Scheme. Each VER certifies that one tonne of greenhouse gas has been saved from being emitted.
